Virtual visits to Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi has successfully adapted to the virtual world induced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Outreach and Admissions Team was delighted to run 14 virtual sessions with school groups over the 2021 Spring term, in spite of schools being closed for most pupils. Virtual visits are a great way for students to learn about Higher Education, gain an insight into life at Oxford, and to interact with current Corpus students.
Dates are advertised in our teacher newsletter, which you can sign up to here. Visits are conducted over Microsoft Teams and are generally 45 minutes, although they can be longer if you wish. Visits are tailored to students' ages. A standard introductory visit consists of a presentation about Higher Education/Oxford, a virtual tour, and a Q&A with Student Ambassadors. We can also cover study skills, run subject taster sessions, and provide workshops dedicated to specific stages of the Oxbridge application process, such as interviews. It is possible to do multiple sessions in order to cover the content that your students are interested in.
Please email email@example.com for further details, including a list of topics, and to book a visit. We look forward to welcoming your school group to Corpus virtually!
In-person visits to Corpus Christi
The college is currently closed for in-person school visits. We are looking forward to resuming them as soon as we are able. We welcome visits from school students in Years 9 to 13, in groups of up to 20 per day. Our Outreach and Admissions Team hosts each visit, which includes discussion about higher education and Oxford, a tour of the College, an academic taster and lunch in our historic dining hall.
School groups also get to quiz our undergraduate Subject Ambassadors about student life here. The Outreach Officer can also help you to combine a visit to Corpus with a tour of another college.
Corpus Christi comes to you
In non-COVID times, the Outreach and Admissions Team also delivers several roadshows a year in the College's link region. These events are adapted to the age and audience and cover topics including higher education, studying at Oxford, the application process, student life and student finance.
What our visitors think
"Thank you for a wonderful day. As always, we were made to feel very welcome by yourself and the students. Our pupils gained an enormous amount from the trip and hopefully the experience will inspire them to work hard for the grades to get to university."
Year 11 visit
"I hadn't considered applying to Corpus before I came here on a school visit. However, when I saw both the enthusiasm and friendliness of the students here, along with the college's beauty and sense of community, I soon changed my mind. My school visit here allowed me to make one of the best decisions I have ever made!"
Second-year undergraduate reflecting on a Year 12 visit
"Can I take this opportunity to thank you for hosting us at Corpus? The students came away from the day with a great enthusiasm and encouragement and I think that it will have a very positive impact on their time at school and beyond."
Year 9 visit
"Many thanks for organising and delivering our visit on Monday. We all (staff & students alike) had an amazing day, and were made to feel so welcome and came away feeling highly informed about life at Oxford and the application process. Please can you also pass on our thanks to the students who helped, they were excellent ambassadors for the College and the subjects they study."
